December 2019 – latest news from Hygienic Finishing Systems
Eek…December…how did that creep up on us? Frosty mornings are upon us, high streets are filled with Christmas shoppers, Black Friday and Cyber Monday is everywhere, mulled wine and mince pie aromas fill the air!
But it’s just another busy month for our HFS team; we’ve been completing projects up and down the country…here’s a snippet of what we’ve been up to lately…
Commercial
- A big local job for us here at the Nestle Foods owned Cereal Partners factory in Bromborough on the Wirral. Our HFS Ultima was the material of choice to be used to refurbish the walls of staff changing areas, wc’s and some of the production and storage areas. Approximately 600 m2 of our Aspen White PVC cladding is being fitted to make sure an easily cleaned, maintained and hygienic environment can be assured at all times
Hotels, Restaurants, Bars & Pubs
- A trip further south took us to the new ASK Restaurant, in the Westfield Shopping Centre, Stratford, East London. Our Ultima ‘Aspen White’ is again the material of choice for ASK’s latest restaurant offering
- Our Bofloor Bofix tiles are proving very popular with Chatwins Bakeries as we complete another installation at their Rhos branch in North Wales. Work has had to be completed over 2 consecutive Sundays as the shop is busy trading from Monday to Saturday
- It’s all happening in North Wales lately as work progresses nicely at one of Llangollen’s favourite pubs, The Cornmill. Our Ultima PVC wall cladding is being fitted to kitchen and back of house areas as part of a very tightly programmed refurbishment. After completion of our planned works, the management thought it looked so good that extra areas have been requested and are being fitted in on a very short timescale
Healthcare
- While we were working locally, we just had time to pop in to Basildon University Hospital to fit more of our Aspen White to showers, en-suites, toilets and utility rooms in a new build wing. As the ceilings were all quite low, we used our 2.2 m long cladding sheets to ensure less waste and a more economical fit out. All fitted with welded joints to further aid the maintenance of a sterile environment
- Altro Whiterock Satins range ‘Fawn’ hygienic wall cladding has been chosen by Queen’s Hospital, Burton on Trent as we commence the refurbishment of 2 operating theatres and associated rooms. This is being fitted with welded joints to ensure the highest of clinical standards. Along with the wall cladding, we have been contracted to supply and install Polysafe Verona and Palletone sheet vinyl flooring. This has been fitted first and covered with correx floor protection sheets to protect the new vinyl whilst other works are being continued. The Altro Whiterock wall cladding overlaps the coved skirtings of the vinyl flooring so that no transition trims are required and an easy clean finish is provided
- Cars and Limewalk Dementia Care Units, Macclesfield General Hospital – as part of a major refurbishment of the two dementia care units, HFS have been contracted to supply and install Trovex hygienic wall cladding to kitchens, bathrooms and en-suites. Several colours from the Ambience and Brilliance ranges have been chosen to be fitted in the bathrooms and en-suites with digitally printed Trovex Gallery wall cladding also being fitted to feature walls in some of these areas. Trovex Diamond white hygienic wall cladding sheets are also being fitted to kitchens and utility areas. All is being installed with welded joints
Leisure
- We’ve been working at the Museum of Liverpool, where some interesting vinyl flooring shapes and patterns are being used as part of our scope of works to refurbish the ‘When I was little’ exhibition area at Liverpool’s iconic waterfront museum. We have fitted new underfloor service ducts before preparing the sub floors and commencing laying new Forbo vinyl flooring
