A very testing time for all of us across the UK at the moment. At HFS it’s very much business as usual, at least until we’re told otherwise, and as we spring into March here’s just a quick round up of what we’ve been up to over the recent weeks…

Hotels, Restaurants, Bars & Pubs

• A whole kitchen refurbishment and a lot of work accomplished in a very tight timescale with multiple trades on site at any one time for The Dog at Peover, part of the Cheshire Pub Company.  A 2-week long shutdown of the establishment resulted in new HFS Ultima White PVC being installed to walls in the Kitchen and Stills areas, new P250 Tongue & Groove ceiling planks to the Stills area, a new suspended grid ceiling being installed to the Kitchen and also new Polysafe Ultima vinyl flooring throughout complete with floor preparation and the disposal of their existing, old vinyl floor finishes
• BAO Restaurant, Pancras Square, London, one of London’s fastest growing chains, chose HFS Ultima Aspen white PVC wall cladding plus Stainless Steel to their Kitchen and Food Prep areas in their new flagship store at Pancras Square. The Taiwanese chain will open this venue in the coming weeks – which is the largest venue in their chain – and with all of those hungry customers, the Kitchen will need to be easily cleaned and maintained – all of which is easily achievable with our wall cladding system
• At The Bulls Head, Hale Barns, black BoFloor tiles with a Light Grey weld were chosen as the floor finish for the refurbishment. Works at this Robinson’s pub also included floor preparation and some remedial works to some of the existing wall coverings to give the Kitchen and Food Preparation areas a ‘spring clean’ prior to the planned re-opening in a few weeks time
• Another BoFloor installation in a picturesque location on the edge of Ullswater in the Lake District. At The Pooley Bridge Inn, black tiles with R13 for extra slip resistance in the Dishwash areas have been chosen along side a black welded joint to give a seamless look to the flooring. This gives an easy to clean and maintain environment for the kitchen staff, leaving them free to serve up delicious food and drinks to all of the tourists that will be heading up there in the Spring & Summer months

Education

• At Little Treasures Day Nursery in the heart of the Worcestershire countryside, a lot of work has been packed into a small space within the Kitchen/Food Prep room. The kitchen had been stripped back to an empty shell by the catering equipment firm that we’re working for – leaving us with a blank canvas. HFS have installed new HFS Ultima Aspen white PVC to all walls, and a new Polysafe Ultima vinyl floor covering with coved skirting which fits into the base of our wall cladding sheets using a 2 part transition strip with integrated neoprene seal to ensure no water can get into the joints

Healthcare

• A very short turnaround project for one of our local hospitals – Royal Liverpool Hospital – where it was 7 days from the point of site survey to the completion of our installation. HFS Ultima Aspen White PVC wall cladding was chosen as the wall covering in a newly constructed isolation unit to treat patients who are suffering with Coronavirus
